Description

Provide specialized medical care for critically ill or injured children in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
Assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of serious conditions, including respiratory failure, sepsis, and organ failure in children.
Manage and monitor life-support systems, including mechanical ventilation, ECMO, and other intensive therapies.
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including pediatric surgeons, nurses, and respiratory therapists.
Perform invasive procedures, such as central line placement, intubation, and lumbar punctures, when necessary.
Provide continuous monitoring of pediatric patients' vital signs, adjusting treatments and interventions as required.
Communicate effectively with patients' families, providing updates on the child's condition and offering emotional support during critical care.
Conduct rounds in the PICU to assess the progress of patients and make adjustments to care plans.
Stay updated on the latest advances in pediatric intensive care medicine through continuing education and research.
