Description

  • Receive, process, and analyze tissue samples (biopsies), blood samples, and other specimens obtained from patients using various laboratory techniques.
  • Perform microscopic examination of tissue sections, cytological smears, and fluid samples to identify cellular changes, abnormalities, and pathological features indicative of disease.
  • Interpret laboratory findings, correlate pathological changes with clinical history and diagnostic imaging studies, and formulate accurate diagnoses.
  • Prepare comprehensive pathology reports documenting the findings of specimen analysis, including descriptions of tissue morphology, diagnostic interpretations, and relevant clinical information.
  • Communicate pathology results effectively to healthcare providers, including physicians, surgeons, and oncologists, to guide patient management and treatment decisions.
  • Provide consultations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate diagnosis and optimal patient care.
  • Maintain high standards of quality assurance and quality control in pathology laboratory operations, including specimen handling, processing, staining, and interpretation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, proficiency testing programs, and internal audits to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor laboratory equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure proper maintenance and calibration of instruments.
