Description

Perform gross and microscopic examinations of surgical pathology specimens, including biopsies, resections, and cytology specimens.
Interpret histopathological, cytopathological, and immunohistochemically findings to diagnose diseases accurately and provide clinically relevant information to healthcare providers.
Consult with clinicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to correlate pathology findings with clinical data and guide patient management decisions.
Review laboratory reports, quality control data, and proficiency testing results to ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, tumour boards, and clinical conferences to discuss complex cases and contribute to patient care planning.
Supervise laboratory personnel, including histotechnologists, medical technologists, and pathology assistants, to ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, including participation in quality assurance programs, proficiency testing, and accreditation activities.
Stay informed about advances in pathology techniques, diagnostic criteria, and treatment modalities through continuing medical education (CME) activities, research, and participation in professional organizations.
Provide teaching and mentorship to medical students, residents, and fellows in pathology education programs.
