Description

Perform microscopic examination and analysis of tissue specimens, cytology samples, and body fluids to diagnose diseases, including cancer, infections, and autoimmune conditions.
Interpret laboratory tests, including immunohistochemistry, molecular diagnostics, and other ancillary studies, to aid in the diagnosis and classification of diseases.
Provide accurate and timely diagnostic reports to referring physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals, conveying findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
Consult with clinicians, surgeons, and other members of the healthcare team to correlate pathology findings with clinical presentations, imaging studies, and patient history.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, tumor boards, and case conferences to discuss complex cases, formulate treatment plans, and optimize patient care.
Contribute to research and academic activities, including teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and conducting research projects in collaboration with academic institutions.
Participate in quality assurance activities, including monitoring laboratory processes, evaluating test results, and implementing corrective actions to ensure accuracy and reliability of diagnostic testing.
Stay updated on advances in pathology, including new diagnostic techniques, emerging biomarkers, and molecular diagnostics, through continuous education and professional development.
