Description

Perform comprehensive pediatric assessments, including physical examinations, developmental assessments, and medical histories, to evaluate the health status of infants, children, and adolescents.
Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic pediatric conditions, including respiratory infections, gastrointestinal disorders, dermatological conditions, and developmental delays.
Provide anticipatory guidance and counseling to parents/caregivers on child development, nutrition, immunizations, safety, and preventive healthcare measures to promote optimal growth and development.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies, including laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures, to assist in the diagnosis and management of pediatric conditions.
Prescribe and administer medications, immunizations, and other medical treatments according to evidence-based guidelines and best practices in pediatric medicine.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team members, including nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, and specialists, to coordinate patient care and ensure comprehensive and integrated healthcare services.
Provide patient and family-centred care, demonstrating empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients and their families, and advocating for patients' rights and preferences.
Educate patients and families about pediatric health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures, and address any questions or concerns to promote informed decision-making and active participation in healthcare.
