OT Technician Trainee

Key Responsibilities:

1. Training and Education:

• Participate in a structured training program to gain knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and sterile techniques.
• Attend classroom and hands-on training sessions to understand the principles of operation theatre technology.
• Study anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to support the surgical team.

2. Assist Surgical Procedures:

• Under the supervision of experienced Operation Theater Technicians, assist in setting up the operation theater before surgeries.
• Prepare surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
• Learn to assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment.

3. Equipment Maintenance:

•  Learn to inspect, clean, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
•  Assist in troubleshooting and reporting any equipment malfunctions.

4. Infection Control:

• Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques.
• Follow established safety guidelines to minimize the risk of infections.

5. Documentation:

• Assist in maintaining accurate records of surgical procedures, equipment usage, and inventory.
• Learn to complete required documentation in accordance with hospital policies.

6. Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in the operation theatre.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and professionalism.
