Description

Assist in the care of patients with orthopedic conditions, including fractures, sprains, strains, and postoperative cases.
Prepare patients for procedures, surgeries, and examinations by assisting with positioning, prepping surgical sites, and providing emotional support.
Perform orthopedic assessments, including range of motion testing, neurovascular assessments, and wound assessments under the direction of orthopedic surgeons or nurses.
Assist orthopedic surgeons during procedures and surgeries by passing instruments, retracting tissues, and maintaining a sterile field.
Set up and maintain orthopedic equipment and instruments, including traction devices, external fixation devices, and orthopedic power tools.
Prepare and apply casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic devices to immobilize and support injured or fractured bones.
Provide patient education on orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and postoperative care instructions.
Instruct patients and their families on the proper use of orthopedic devices, mobility aids, and assistive devices.
Perform wound care and dressing changes for orthopedic surgical incisions and traumatic injuries, ensuring proper wound healing and infection control.
Monitor wounds for signs of infection, complications, or delayed healing and report findings to healthcare providers.
