Description

Prepare the operating room for neurosurgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and readily available.
Assist neurosurgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding tissues, and providing other support as needed.
Maintain a sterile field throughout neurosurgical procedures, adhering to strict aseptic techniques to prevent surgical site infections.
Position patients on the operating table for optimal access and safety during neurosurgery, taking into account specific requirements for different procedures.
Operate and maintain specialized neurosurgical equipment, such as microscopes, neuro-navigation systems, cranial drills, and nerve monitoring devices.
Monitor patient vital signs during surgery and communicate any abnormalities to the surgical team.
Assist with transferring patients to the recovery area after surgery and provide postoperative care as needed, including wound dressing and monitoring.
Collaborate effectively with neurosurgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team to ensure coordinated patient care.
Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies during neurosurgical procedures, implementing appropriate interventions to support patient safety and well-being.
Stay updated on advances in neurosurgical techniques and technology through ongoing education and training activities.
