Description

Set up and prepare the operating theatre for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and in working order.
Assist with the sterilization and disinfection of surgical instruments, equipment, and operating room surfaces according to established protocols.
Assist with the preparation of patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and prepping the surgical site in accordance with surgeon and infection control guidelines.
Transport patients to and from the operating theatre, ensuring their safety, comfort, and privacy throughout the process.
Provide support to surgical teams during procedures, passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies as needed, anticipating surgeon's needs and maintaining a sterile field.
Monitor patient vital signs, blood loss, and fluid balance during surgery, alerting the surgical team to any deviations or concerns.
Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including lights, monitors, suction devices, and electrocautery units, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs or adjustments as needed, escalating issues to appropriate personnel when necessary.
Assist with the transfer of patients to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) or recovery area, providing assistance with patient monitoring, positioning, and comfort measures.
Assist with the cleaning and restocking of the operating theatre between procedures, ensuring readiness for the next surgical case.
