Description
- Preparing the Operating Room: Before the surgery, the OTT is responsible for ensuring that the operating room is clean, sterile, and fully equipped with all the necessary surgical tools and equipment.
- Assisting the Surgeon: During the surgery, the OTT assists the surgeon in various ways. This includes handing surgical instruments to the surgeon, helping with retraction and hemostasis, and keeping a watchful eye on the patient's vital signs.
- Maintaining Sterility: The OTT is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room throughout the procedure. This involves following strict protocols for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical tools and equipment.
- Monitoring Patient: The OTT keeps a watchful eye on the patient's vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation, throughout the surgery.
- Postoperative Care: After the surgery, the OTT is responsible for helping to move the patient to a recovery area, ensuring that the operating room is cleaned and sterilized, and restocking supplies and equipment for the next procedure.
