Department: Operation Theatre (OT)

Location: Vardhman Neurospine Hospital

Reporting To: OT Incharge / Surgeon / Management

Job Summary

• The OT Technician is responsible for assisting surgeons, doctors, and nursing staff during surgical procedures and ensuring smooth functioning of the Operation Theatre with proper sterilization, patient safety, and equipment management.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain Operation Theatre before and after surgeries.
• Sterilize surgical instruments and OT equipment as per protocol.
• Assist doctors and surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Arrange surgical instruments, consumables, and OT supplies.
• Ensure proper functioning of OT machines and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards in OT.
• Shift and position patients safely before and after surgery.
• Maintain OT records, inventory, and biomedical waste disposal protocols.
• Coordinate with nursing staff, doctors, and housekeeping team.
• Follow NABH guidelines and hospital policies.
• Handle emergency situations promptly and responsibly.

Required Qualification

• Diploma / Certificate in OT Technician Course.
• Relevant experience in Operation Theatre preferred.

Skills Required

• Knowledge of OT procedures and sterilization techniques.
• Basic understanding of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in emergency and rotational shifts.
• Discipline, punctuality, and patient care attitude.

Working Conditions

• Rotational shifts including emergency duties.
• Must follow hospital uniform and infection control protocols strictly.
