Description

Conduct comprehensive medication reviews for patients undergoing occupational therapy, assessing medication profiles, drug interactions, and potential adverse effects to optimize therapy outcomes.
Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare providers to develop individualized medication regimens tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of patients participating in occupational therapy.
Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers, explaining medication indications, dosages, administration techniques, potential side effects, and precautions to ensure safe and effective medication use.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings, contributing expertise on medication-related issues, treatment goals, and therapeutic interventions to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Serve as a resource and consultant to the occupational therapy team, offering expertise on pharmaceutical interventions, evidence-based practices, and medication-related guidelines to support clinical decision-making and patient management.
Monitor patient response to medication therapy, assess treatment efficacy, and identify opportunities for medication optimization or adjustment to achieve therapeutic goals and improve patient outcomes.
Advocate for patients' medication-related needs, preferences, and safety concerns, collaborating with the healthcare team to address medication-related issues and promote patient-centered care.
