Surgical Assistance: Assist the surgical team during procedures by preparing the operating room, ensuring that all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for surgery by verifying their identity, conducting preoperative assessments, and ensuring that they are properly positioned and draped for the procedure.
Monitoring During Surgery: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and anesthetic levels during surgery, alerting the surgical team to any changes or concerns that may arise.
Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols, ensuring a sterile environment in the operating room and following proper procedures for the handling and disposal of surgical materials.
Collaboration with Surgical Team: Work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth operations, coordinating tasks and ensuring effective communication throughout the procedure.
Postoperative Care: Provide immediate postoperative care to patients, monitoring their recovery in the recovery room, assessing vital signs, and managing any pain or discomfort.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of surgical procedures, including instrument counts, patient status, and any complications encountered during the operation.
Continuing Education: Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with surgical practices, equipment, and advances in operating room protocols.
