Description

Supervises daily inventory checks before every shift commences.
Allots perioperative/ scrub/circulating nurse for the posted surgeries. Assigns on call duties and updates dashboard. Reviews daily proposed OR schedule.
Ascertain surgical suite allocation is based on surgeon requirements, equipment needs and functionality.
Collects feedback of flow of work process of the previous shifts in her absence.
She should be personally responsible to ensure the highest standards of sterility of the OT linen, dressings and equipment.
She should have the theatre itself sterilized out at intervals of one week and maintain a record of these.
Adverse bacteriological results should be brought to the notice of the surgeon/anesthetists immediately, their causes investigated and remedial action taken.
Operative work in the theatre should be suspended whenever the sterility test is doubtful or adverse and resumed only after approved standards of sterility has been achieved.
She should insist on observance of the normal precautions to avoid infection being brought into the theatre through soiled outdoor clothes.
She should not permit unauthorized traffic into the operation theatre.
