Description

Assist licensed occupational therapists in conducting patient evaluations and assessments to determine functional abilities, deficits, and goals for therapy.
Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the licensed OT, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, adaptive equipment use, and environmental modifications.
Provide hands-on assistance to patients during therapy sessions, demonstrating proper techniques and ensuring safety and comfort.
Monitor patient progress and response to therapy interventions, documenting observations, outcomes, and changes in functional status in patient records.
Collaborate with the licensed OT and other healthcare team members to develop and modify treatment goals and plans based on patient needs and progress.
Instruct patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and home exercise programs to promote carryover and independence outside of therapy sessions.
Assist in the maintenance and organization of therapy equipment, supplies, and treatment areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members regarding therapy goals, progress, and recommendations.
