Description

  • Assess patients with musculoskeletal complaints, including fractures, joint issues, ligament injuries, and bone diseases.
  • Perform detailed physical examinations and request appropriate imaging or diagnostic tests to confirm diagnoses.
  • Provide non-surgical treatments such as casting, splinting, and joint injections.
  • Administer pain management strategies for patients with acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain.
  • Assist senior orthopedic consultants during surgeries, including but not limited to joint replacements, fracture fixation, arthroscopic surgeries, and soft tissue repairs.
  • Gain hands-on experience by performing less complex procedures under supervision, such as wound closure, suturing, and assisting in instrumentation.
  • Respond to orthopedic emergencies, such as fractures, dislocations, and traumatic injuries, in emergency settings like trauma rooms or the emergency department.
  • Perform initial stabilization of fractures and musculoskeletal injuries, including splinting and arranging for imaging and surgical consultation if needed.
