Description

Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures, including verifying patient information and insurance coverage.
Conduct pre-testing procedures such as visual acuity tests, auto-refraction, tonometry, and visual field testing to gather preliminary data for the optometrist's evaluation.
Prepare examination rooms and ensure that all optometric instruments and equipment are properly maintained, sanitized, and calibrated for accurate testing.
Assist patients with frame selection, lens fitting, and adjustments, ensuring proper comfort, vision correction, and alignment according to the optometrist's prescriptions.
Provide patients with instructions on contact lens insertion, removal, and care, as well as conducting preliminary assessments such as keratometry and tear film evaluation.
Educate patients on ocular health, preventive eye care measures, and proper use of eyewear or contact lenses to promote optimal eye health and vision.
Document patient information, exam results, and test findings accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR) or paper charts, following clinic protocols and privacy regulations.
Assist the optometrist during eye exams, including patient positioning, instrument handling, and recording exam findings as directed.
Maintain inventory of eyewear, contact lenses, and other optical products, and assist with ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
