Description

Optometrist should pay immediate attention to the patient, who enters the OPD area for consultation/investigations/enquiry
Examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities such as glaucoma or color blindness.
Analyze test results and develop a treatment plan.
Fit and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses and other vision aids.
Educate and counsel patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, lighting arrangements and safety factors.
Provide patients undergoing eye surgeries, such as cataract and laser vision correction, with pre- and post-operative care.
To inform referring doctor of arrival of patient and the investigations and treatment.
To ensure that registration and other formalities to be completed well within time to save patient’s time.
To keep patient engaged by talking/listening/by giving and collecting information from the patient, during the waiting period
To maintain necessary data about patients and referral sources. All information about the patients and referral doctors will be entered in a computer on day-to-day basis.
To call up and enquire about patients who had been scheduled for elective procedures and fix up a data for admission.
To follow and maintain all standards of quality as required by the organizational standards.
