Description

Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity testing, refraction, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, tonometry, fundoscopy, and ophthalmic imaging, to diagnose and monitor ophthalmic conditions and diseases.
Evaluate and manage patients with a variety of eye conditions, such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, corneal diseases, and refractive errors.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, incorporating medical, surgical, and nonsurgical interventions based on clinical findings, patient preferences, and evidence-based practice guidelines.
Perform ophthalmic surgeries, including cataract extraction, LASIK, PRK, corneal transplantation, vitrectomy, retinal detachment repair, and oculoplastic procedures, with precision and expertise.
Provide preoperative and postoperative care to surgical patients, including counseling, informed consent, surgical scheduling, and follow-up examinations to ensure optimal surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Educate patients and families about eye health, preventive measures, treatment options, and postoperative care instructions to empower them to actively participate in their eye care.
Collaborate with optometrists, primary care physicians, other specialists, and healthcare team members to provide coordinated and comprehensive care for patients with complex medical conditions.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care, safety, and clinical outcomes within the ophthalmology department.
