Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide expert ophthalmic care to patients with various eye conditions, including refractive errors, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and other ocular disorders.
  2. Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, and fundus examination, to diagnose and monitor eye conditions.
  3. Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies, such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein angiography, and visual field testing, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  4. Diagnose eye conditions accurately and develop individualized treatment plans, which may include prescription eyeglasses, contact lenses, medications, or surgical interventions.
  5. Perform ophthalmic surgeries, including cataract extraction, intraocular lens implantation, laser eye surgery (LASIK/PRK), glaucoma surgery, and retinal surgery, as needed.
  6. Manage ocular emergencies, such as eye injuries, acute angle-closure glaucoma, and retinal detachment, with prompt and effective intervention.
  7. Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including optometrists, retina specialists, cornea specialists, and allied health professionals, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  8. Educate patients and their families about eye health, treatment options, and preventive measures to promote ocular wellness and preserve vision.
  9. Participate in community outreach programs, vision screenings, and educational initiatives to raise awareness about eye health and prevent blindness.
  10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

 

Qualifications:

 

  1. Medical degree (MS/DNB) in Ophthalmology from a recognized institution.
  2. Valid medical license to practice in Gujarat, India.
  3. Minimum of [insert number of years] years of clinical experience as an Ophthalmologist, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting.
  4. Proven expertise in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of eye conditions.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  6. Strong surgical skills and experience in performing ophthalmic surgeries using both traditional and advanced techniques.
  7. Proficiency in computer skills and electronic medical record systems.

  2. Experience working in a rural healthcare setting.
  3. Proficiency in Gujarati or Hindi language.
