Roles and Responsibilities

• This positions main Role & Responsibility is to operate relevant Department and conduct tests and maintenance of their respective Department with equipment. Provides information to diagnose patient illnesses by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs.
• Welcomes patients by greeting Good morning, I am xyz and sanitise patient and self hands.

• Seek the bill & prescription from patient. And keep eye contact with smiling gesture and ask patient to sit.
• Cross check demo, test from prescription and preparation and if any consent form is needed from the patient.
• Ask the patient to keep personal belonging with the patient attendant and wear patient gown.
• Check if any metallic substance is embedded in patient body before MRI.
• Explain the test procedure briefly to patient.
• For female patient & male technician call OPD nurse to be present & assist technician.
• Switch on ‘Engaged Light’
• Capture patient demo on modality screen and patient history in PACS.
• Execute the procedure as per test protocol.
• Switch off ‘Engaged Light’
• “Mr/Ms The test is complete you may pl change back in the changing room.”
• If there are other test then guide patient to next dept.
• Seek off patient with “be healthy, be safe note and rate your experience on sms link”
• Mark test done in LIS.
• Print images/graph for doctor reporting physically or on Telerad/PACS.
• Update image/graph handover to doctor register wherever needed (Gastro/Cardio/Neuro)
• Physical report handover to Frond desk through system after proper labeling.
• Handle & administer contrast cases carefully after validating the creatinine report.
• Ensure proper inventory management of the consumables at the department.
• Ensure emergency medical crash cart trolley is updated with non expired medicine.
• Be careful with old age people and children pregnant women and people who may have difficulty.
• Handhold patient to move to chair or bed from wheel chair or trolley.
• In case of any spillage, to ensure cleaning before the next patient is called.
• Is responsible for the shortest TAT of the department.
• Proper Functioning of Equipment, Inform Maintenance in case of Machine breakdown/or any other maintenance issues.
• If confronted with doubt or difficult situation seek support from peer or shift incharge (refusal).
• In case of any error better to discuss & report upfront.
• Avoid making tall claims or undue commitments.
• Organise polyclinic chamber with stationeries/instruments and assist Consultants. (applicable for only OPD nurse)
