Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform surgical procedures for the treatment of various types of cancer, including solid tumors and hematological malignancies, utilizing advanced surgical techniques and technologies.
  • Conduct preoperative evaluations and assessments of cancer patients, including review of medical history, physical examination, interpretation of diagnostic imaging studies, and consultation with other specialists as needed.
  • Plan and execute surgical treatment plans for cancer patients, considering tumor type, location, stage, and patient's overall health status, with the goal of achieving optimal oncological outcomes while preserving functional integrity and quality of life.
  • Perform a wide range of oncological surgeries, including tumor resections, lymph node dissections, organ-sparing surgeries, minimally invasive procedures (laparoscopic, robotic), and reconstructive surgeries, as appropriate for each case.
  • Coordinate care with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, oncology nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care.
  • Provide perioperative care to cancer patients, including optimization of nutritional status, management of comorbidities, prophylaxis against surgical complications, and postoperative monitoring and follow-up.
  • Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary team meetings, and case discussions to collaborate on treatment planning, review complex cases, and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families about surgical treatment options, potential risks and benefits, expected outcomes, and postoperative care instructions, promoting shared decision-making and informed consent.
  • Stay updated on advances in oncological surgery, surgical techniques, perioperative care protocols, and evidence-based practices through continuous medical education and professional development activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (DNB/MCh) with specialization in Oncosurgery from a recognized institution.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Gujarat, India.
  • Minimum of [insert number of years] years of clinical experience as an Oncosurgeon, preferably in a hospital or cancer center setting.
  • Proven expertise in performing complex oncological surgeries and managing surgical complications.
