Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide expert oncological care to patients with various types of cancer, including solid tumors and hematological malignancies.
  2. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with suspected or confirmed cancer diagnoses, including detailed medical history-taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests such as imaging studies, biopsies, and laboratory tests.
  3. Diagnose cancer accurately and stage the disease according to established criteria, utilizing imaging modalities such as CT scans, MRI scans, PET scans, and bone scans.
  4. Develop individualized treatment plans for cancer patients, incorporating a multidisciplinary approach that may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, or palliative care interventions.
  5. Administer chemotherapy and other systemic treatments, monitor treatment responses, and manage treatment-related side effects and complications.
  6. Coordinate care with surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, oncology nurses, and other allied health professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  7. Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary team meetings, and case conferences to discuss complex cases and formulate optimal treatment strategies.
  8. Educate patients and their families about their cancer diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and supportive care measures, facilitating shared decision-making and informed consent.
  9. Provide compassionate end-of-life care and supportive care services to cancer patients and their families, addressing symptom management, psychosocial support, and advance care planning.
  10. Stay updated on advances in oncology research, treatment modalities, clinical trials, and evidence-based practices through continuous medical education and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  1. Medical degree (MD/DM) with specialization in Oncology from a recognized institution.
  2. Valid medical license to practice in Gujarat, India.
  3. Minimum of [insert number of years] years of clinical experience as an Oncologist, preferably in a hospital or cancer center setting.
  4. Proven expertise in the diagnosis, staging, and management of various types of cancer.
