Description
- Conduct handovers with the day shift supervisor and ensure a smooth transition of duties at the beginning and end of the shift.
- Allocate and assign staff to various units based on patient needs and staff competencies, managing the workload to ensure balanced and adequate care.
- Monitor patient care activities throughout the night shift, ensuring that all patients receive appropriate and timely care.
- Address and resolve any patient or family concerns related to care quality, comfort, or safety, escalating to higher management if necessary.
- Perform rounds periodically to assess patient conditions, evaluate care standards, and check for any issues needing immediate attention.
- Act as the point of contact for any emergencies or crises during the night shift, coordinating with medical and security teams to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Facilitate timely response to medical emergencies, including organizing rapid response teams or alerting on-call medical personnel.
- Provide support and guidance in critical situations, making decisions in consultation with the medical team and adhering to hospital protocols.
