Description

  • Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, and fostering a positive work environment conducive to professional growth and development.
  • Coordinate and manage patient care activities, including admissions, discharges, transfers, and bedside care, to ensure optimal patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular rounds on patient units to assess patient acuity, monitor the delivery of nursing care, and address any patient care issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate patient care, optimize outcomes, and ensure continuity of care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Oversee the implementation of nursing care plans and treatment protocols, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice guidelines, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage nursing staffing levels and schedules, including recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff, to ensure adequate staffing and skill mix to meet patient care needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing performance, quality indicators, and patient outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements, including those related to nursing practice, patient care, infection control, and safety, to maintain accreditation and minimize risk within the healthcare facility.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and management, advocating for staff needs, addressing concerns, and facilitating communication to promote a positive work environment and enhance team collaboration.
