Description
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the nursing department, establishing goals, objectives, and performance standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including nurses, nursing assistants, and other support personnel, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to enhance nursing competency and performance.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership, administrators, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols that promote patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee nursing staffing levels, scheduling, and assignments to ensure adequate coverage and optimal utilization of nursing resources, adjusting staffing as needed to meet patient care needs and maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios.
- Monitor nursing performance metrics, including patient outcomes, nurse satisfaction, and quality indicators, analyzing data, identifying trends, and implementing strategies to improve nursing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in nursing care, maintaining licensure, certification, and accreditation for nursing services.
- Coordinate nursing education and training programs, facilitating orientation, continuing education, and skills development initiatives for nursing staff to enhance clinical competency and promote professional growth.
