Description
- Coordinate and supervise daily nursing activities, including patient admissions, assessments, treatments, and discharges, to ensure efficient workflow and quality patient care delivery.
- Assign nursing staff to patient care assignments based on acuity, staffing levels, and skill mix, ensuring equitable distribution of workload and optimal utilization of resources.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, including frontline nurses, nurse aides, and nursing assistants, to promote safe and effective patient care practices.
- Conduct regular rounds on patient units to assess patient needs, monitor care delivery, and address any issues or concerns raised by patients, families, or staff members.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff, to coordinate patient care plans, implement treatment protocols, and achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including infection control practices, medication safety protocols, and patient rights.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, performance improvement projects, and patient safety programs to enhance the quality of nursing care and mitigate risks.
