Description
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, while promoting independence and preserving patient dignity and privacy.
- Provide basic nursing care, such as turning and repositioning patients, assisting with ambulation and transfers, and providing skin care to prevent pressure ulcers.
- Measure and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiratory rate, and report any abnormalities or changes in patient condition to the nursing staff.
- Respond to patient call lights promptly, addressing patient needs and requests in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Assist patients with mobility and positioning, using appropriate lifting and transfer techniques to prevent injury and ensure patient safety.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, engaging in conversation, active listening, and comforting gestures to alleviate anxiety and promote well-being.
- Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and treatments, including wound care, specimen collection, catheter care, and administration of oral medications, following established protocols and procedures.
- Set up and maintain patient care equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for use and proper functioning, and notifying the nursing staff of any equipment malfunctions or deficiencies.
