Description
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff, including registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs), ensuring adequate staffing levels and skill mix to meet patient care needs.
- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to nursing personnel, fostering a positive work environment, professional growth, and accountability.
- Conduct regular rounds on nursing units to assess staffing, patient acuity, and workflow, and address any concerns or issues proactively.
- Delegate tasks and assign responsibilities to nursing staff based on their qualifications, competence, and scope of practice.
- Monitor the delivery of patient care and nursing practice to ensure compliance with evidence-based standards, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to promote patient safety, continuity of care, and clinical outcomes.
- Review patient assessments, care plans, and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Investigate and respond to patient and family complaints, incidents, and adverse events, implementing corrective actions as needed.
