Description
- Supervise and manage nursing staff, including registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and nursing assistants, ensuring adequate staffing levels, competency, and performance.
- Coordinate patient care activities, including admissions, assessments, treatments, and discharge planning, to ensure continuity and quality of care throughout the patient's healthcare journey.
- Assign patient care responsibilities to nursing staff based on patient acuity, staff competency, and workload distribution, optimizing efficiency and resource utilization.
- Provide clinical leadership and expertise to nursing teams, serving as a mentor, role model, and resource for best practices, evidence-based care, and professional development.
- Conduct regular rounds on patient units to assess patient status, monitor nursing care delivery, and address any issues or concerns related to patient care, safety, or comfort.
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, ensuring holistic and coordinated care.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards, protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements, including those set forth by accreditation bodies, licensing agencies, and professional organizations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and patient safety programs to monitor, evaluate, and improve nursing care practices and outcomes.
