Description
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients for diagnostic imaging or therapy.
- Operate gamma cameras, PET, and SPECT scanners to capture functional images of organs and tissues.
- Verify patient identity, review medical history, and explain procedures clearly to ensure safety and comfort.
- Follow strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self from exposure.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot nuclear medicine equipment regularly.
- Process and analyze imaging data for interpretation by nuclear medicine physicians.
- Maintain accurate patient records, dosage logs, and quality control documentation.
- Dispose of radioactive materials in compliance with regulatory and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and technologists to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
