Description
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients for diagnostic imaging or therapeutic purposes, following safety protocols and physician instructions.
- Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment such as PET, SPECT, and gamma cameras to capture high-quality images for medical evaluation.
- Position patients correctly for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and safety, while explaining the process to reduce patient anxiety.
- Assist in the preparation and mixing of radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring the correct dosage and labeling, and maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor patients during imaging procedures, observing for any adverse reactions or complications and reporting to the supervising physician.
- Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment, ensuring that it operates correctly and safely, while adhering to regulatory guidelines for radiation safety.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols, including the safe handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Document and report all imaging results and patient information accurately, maintaining up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with nuclear medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and accurate diagnostic results.
