Description

  • Prepare patients for nuclear medicine procedures by explaining the process, obtaining medical history, and ensuring patient comfort and cooperation during the examination.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients orally, intravenously, or by other routes as prescribed by physicians, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Operate gamma cameras, PET scanners, and other nuclear medicine imaging equipment to acquire images of specific organs, tissues, or physiological processes within the body.
  • Position patients correctly and adjust imaging parameters to obtain high-quality nuclear medicine images, ensuring optimal visualization of anatomical structures and pathological conditions.
  • Analyze nuclear medicine images to identify abnormalities, interpret findings, and generate reports for review and interpretation by nuclear medicine physicians or radiologists.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and yourself during radiopharmaceutical administration and imaging procedures.
  • Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment, radiopharmaceuticals, and imaging accessories to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor patients during and after nuclear medicine procedures, observing for adverse reactions or side effects, and providing appropriate care and support as needed.
