Description

Prepare patients for nuclear medicine procedures by explaining the process, obtaining medical history, and ensuring patient comfort and cooperation during the examination.
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients orally, intravenously, or by other routes as prescribed by physicians, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
Operate gamma cameras, PET scanners, and other nuclear medicine imaging equipment to acquire images of specific organs, tissues, or physiological processes within the body.
Position patients correctly and adjust imaging parameters to obtain high-quality nuclear medicine images, ensuring optimal visualization of anatomical structures and pathological conditions.
Analyze nuclear medicine images to identify abnormalities, interpret findings, and generate reports for review and interpretation by nuclear medicine physicians or radiologists.
Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and yourself during radiopharmaceutical administration and imaging procedures.
Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment, radiopharmaceuticals, and imaging accessories to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Monitor patients during and after nuclear medicine procedures, observing for adverse reactions or side effects, and providing appropriate care and support as needed.
