Description
- Prepare patients for nuclear medicine procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Ensure patients are properly positioned for imaging and that the correct procedures are followed to minimize discomfort.
- Monitor patients during the imaging process and ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Record patient history and document any conditions or allergies that might impact the procedure.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients under the guidance of a physician or medical physicist.
- Ensure the correct dosage and method of administration for radiopharmaceuticals (injection, ingestion, inhalation) as prescribed.
- Safely handle and store radioactive materials in compliance with safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure that all nuclear medicine imaging equipment is well-maintained and calibrated to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Perform routine quality control checks and troubleshoot any equipment issues.
- Assist in the installation, testing, and calibration of new equipment.
