Description

  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including administering radiopharmaceuticals, preparing patients, positioning patients for imaging, and operating gamma cameras or PET scanners, according to established protocols.
  • Ensure the safe and accurate administration of radiopharmaceuticals, adhering to radiation safety principles, dosage guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot nuclear medicine equipment and instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and image quality, and promptly report equipment malfunctions or issues.
  • Acquire and process nuclear medicine images, review images for quality and diagnostic clarity, and assist radiologists or nuclear medicine physicians in interpreting images and generating reports.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and image archives, including patient demographics, procedure details, and radiation exposure data, in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Educate patients about nuclear medicine procedures, explain the purpose and risks of the procedure, and address patient concerns and questions to ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
