Description

Evaluate patients presenting with neurological symptoms, such as headaches, seizures, dizziness, weakness, numbness, memory problems, movement disorders, and cognitive deficits.
Perform comprehensive neurological examinations, including assessments of mental status, cranial nerves, motor function, sensory function, reflexes, coordination, and gait.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as electroencephalograms (EEGs), electromyograms (EMGs), nerve conduction studies (NCS), computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, and lumbar punctures, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Diagnose and manage a wide range of neurological disorders and conditions, including but not limited to epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, neuropathies, myopathies, and movement disorders.
Develop individualized treatment plans for patients, incorporating pharmacological interventions, lifestyle modifications, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and surgical interventions, as appropriate.
Prescribe and adjust medications for neurological conditions, such as antiepileptic drugs, antiparkinsonian agents, immunomodulating agents, muscle relaxants, and analgesics, to optimize symptom control and improve patient outcomes.
Perform and interpret specialized neurological procedures and interventions, such as nerve blocks, botulinum toxin injections, deep brain stimulation (DBS), and nerve or muscle biopsies, to diagnose and treat neurological disorders.
Provide patient education and counseling on neurological conditions, treatment options, medication adherence, symptom management, and disease prevention strategies.
