Description

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Medical Records Department, including organizing, filing, storing, and retrieving patient medical records in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of medical records by performing regular audits, quality checks, and reviews of documentation, and addressing any discrepancies or inconsistencies promptly.
  • Implement and maintain efficient record-keeping systems and procedures, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems, medical record software, and other health information management technologies effectively.
  • Coordinate the release and disclosure of medical records to authorized individuals or entities, ensuring compliance with patient privacy laws (HIPAA) and organizational protocols for record access and disclosure.
  • Process requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, legal authorities, and other authorized parties, and facilitate the timely retrieval and release of records as needed.
  • Provide assistance and support to patients and their families with inquiries, requests, and concerns related to medical records, ensuring courteous and responsive service at all times.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and other departments to facilitate the exchange of medical information and ensure the accuracy and availability of patient records for continuity of care.
  • Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations, record-keeping practices, and technology advancements, and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in medical records management.
  • Train and educate staff on medical records management policies, procedures, and best practices, and provide guidance and support to ensure adherence to quality and compliance standards.
