Description

  • Department Leadership: Lead and manage the microbiology department, overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of laboratory practices, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Research and Development: Drive and oversee microbiological research, innovation, and development projects, ensuring the continuous advancement of knowledge and application in clinical, pharmaceutical, or industrial microbiology.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Ensure that microbiological testing procedures and results comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal quality control protocols.
  • Testing and Analysis: Supervise the performance of microbiological tests, including microbial cultures, identification, sensitivity testing, and sterility testing, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Staff Management: Manage, train, and mentor microbiology staff, including laboratory technicians and researchers, ensuring they are well-equipped with the skills and knowledge to perform high-quality work.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and proper usage of laboratory equipment, reagents, and materials, ensuring efficient resource allocation and minimal downtime.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations, such as FDA, WHO, and ISO standards, and prepare for audits or inspections as required.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as quality control, production, and research teams, to support cross-functional initiatives and provide microbiological expertise.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve microbiological issues, including contamination problems, product failures, or discrepancies in test results, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on microbiological findings, department activities, research results, and compliance issues, presenting them to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
