Description
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of medical transcriptionists, ensuring timely transcription of dictated medical reports and documents.
- Assign transcription tasks, prioritize workloads, and monitor productivity to meet turnaround time expectations and service level agreements.
- Review and edit transcribed documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to formatting and style guidelines.
- Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of transcribed medical records, including proofreading, editing, and verification processes.
- Develop and maintain quality metrics, benchmarks, and performance standards for transcription accuracy and productivity.
- Provide feedback, training, and coaching to transcriptionists to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with documentation standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies governing medical record documentation, including HIPAA regulations.
- Stay informed about updates and changes in medical terminology, coding systems, and transcription guidelines, and disseminate information to transcription staff as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, clinical staff, and medical coders to resolve documentation discrepancies and ensure accurate and comprehensive medical records.
