Description

  • Managing Medical Records: Organize, maintain, and secure both physical and electronic medical records to ensure easy retrieval, accuracy, and completeness for patient care and audits.
  • Data Entry and Documentation: Input and update patient information, diagnoses, treatment histories, and discharge summaries into the hospital's electronic health record (EHR) system or database.
  • Ensuring Compliance: Ensure all medical records comply with legal regulations, such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), or other relevant privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Coordination with Healthcare Providers: Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure the timely and accurate collection, updating, and storage of patient data.
  • Audits and Quality Control: Conduct regular audits of patient records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper filing. Identify and correct any discrepancies or missing information.
  • Release of Information (ROI): Handle requests for patient records from external stakeholders like insurance companies or legal authorities, ensuring proper authorization and adherence to privacy policies.
  • Archiving and Record Retention: Implement and manage record retention and archiving procedures for both active and inactive patient records, ensuring records are kept according to regulatory timelines.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports on patient data, healthcare trends, or record management processes to help with decision-making, patient care improvements, and regulatory compliance.
