Description

Apply principles of physics to medicine, primarily focusing on the safe and effective use of radiation in medical treatments and diagnostic procedures.
Perform quality assurance tests on radiation equipment, such as linear accelerators, CT scanners, and MRI machines, to ensure they are functioning properly.
Collaborate with medical teams, including radiologists, oncologists, and radiographers, to develop optimal treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy.
Measure radiation levels and exposure, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements to protect both patients and staff.
Perform dosimetry calculations to determine appropriate radiation dosages for specific medical conditions and treatments.
Supervise and monitor the safe use of radiation therapy equipment and other medical devices, ensuring all operations meet medical safety guidelines.
Conduct research and contribute to the development of new radiation treatment techniques and medical devices to improve patient care.
Provide training and guidance to healthcare staff on the safe use of radiological equipment and radiation safety protocols.
