Description

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with cancer, including medical history review, physical examination, and diagnostic testing, to determine diagnosis and stage of disease.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on tumor type, stage, molecular characteristics, patient preferences, and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Coordinate and oversee the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, and other systemic treatments, monitoring patient response and managing treatment-related side effects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and support services, to ensure coordinated and integrated care for patients.
  • Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and multidisciplinary meetings to discuss treatment options, review patient cases, and optimize care delivery.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding their cancer diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and supportive care needs.
  • Monitor patients' progress during and after treatment, conducting regular follow-up visits, imaging studies, and laboratory tests to assess response to therapy, detect recurrence, and manage long-term survivorship issues.
