Description

Conduct thorough medical evaluations of patients with gastrointestinal symptoms, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests and imaging studies.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), to evaluate GI tract anatomy, diagnose pathology, and provide treatment interventions.
Interpret endoscopic findings, biopsy results, imaging studies, and laboratory tests to diagnose and stage GI diseases, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), celiac disease, and gastrointestinal cancers.
Manage chronic liver diseases, including viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), autoimmune liver diseases, and liver cirrhosis, through medical therapy, lifestyle modifications, and hepatology consultations.
Evaluate and treat pancreatic disorders, such as acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cysts, and pancreatic cancer, utilizing endoscopic techniques, medical therapies, and multidisciplinary care approaches.
Provide nutritional counseling, dietary management, and supplemental therapies for patients with malabsorption syndromes, nutritional deficiencies, and functional GI disorders, promoting optimal digestive health and nutritional status.
Collaborate with colorectal surgeons, hepatologists, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and nutritionists to coordinate multidisciplinary care for patients with complex GI and liver conditions, facilitating comprehensive treatment plans and ensuring continuity of care.
Educate patients and families on GI diseases, treatment options, medication adherence, dietary modifications, and lifestyle changes, empowering them to actively participate in their healthcare and make informed decisions.
