- Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance carriers in a timely manner.
- Review claims for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payer rules and regulations.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits before claim submission.
- Resolve denied or rejected claims by investigating and correcting errors.
- Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts.
- Follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims with insurance companies and patients.
- Communicate with patients to explain billing issues or outstanding balances.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing software, coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and payer policies.
