Description

Set up and operate manual and/or computer numerical control (CNC) lathe machines to perform turning, facing, threading, grooving, and other machining operations.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements, tolerances, and dimensions.
Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding devices, and adjust machine settings to ensure proper machining processes.
Load and unload workpieces into the lathe machine, and monitor machining operations to ensure parts are produced according to specifications and quality standards.
Measure and inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications.
Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and overall quality of machined parts.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on lathe machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components, to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents, minimize risks, and ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
Document production activities, including machine setup, tool changes, production quantities, and quality inspection results, in accordance with company procedures.
