Description

  • Manage all aspects of laboratory operations, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the laboratory.
  • Lead and supervise laboratory staff, including technicians, technologists, and assistants, providing guidance, training, and support as needed to maintain high standards of performance and professionalism.
  • Coordinate and oversee laboratory testing procedures, including sample processing, analysis, and reporting, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and adherence to quality control standards.
  • Implement and maintain quality management systems and laboratory accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 15189, CLIA), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and continuous improvement in laboratory practices and procedures.
  • Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols, in collaboration with senior management, to promote consistency, efficiency, and safety in laboratory operations.
  • Monitor laboratory performance metrics, such as test turnaround time, accuracy rates, and proficiency testing results, and implement corrective actions as needed to address deviations and improve performance.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance, calibration, and validation of laboratory equipment and instrumentation, coordinating with vendors and service providers as needed to resolve technical issues and ensure uninterrupted operation.
  • Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents, consumables, and supplies, and oversee procurement, storage, and distribution processes to maintain adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of laboratory procedures, test results, quality control measures, and other documentation required for regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and accreditation purposes.
  • Collaborate with other departments, healthcare providers, researchers, and external partners to support interdisciplinary research projects, clinical trials, and collaborative initiatives that require laboratory expertise and resources.
