Description

Manage all aspects of laboratory operations, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the laboratory.
Lead and supervise laboratory staff, including technicians, technologists, and assistants, providing guidance, training, and support as needed to maintain high standards of performance and professionalism.
Coordinate and oversee laboratory testing procedures, including sample processing, analysis, and reporting, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and adherence to quality control standards.
Implement and maintain quality management systems and laboratory accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 15189, CLIA), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and continuous improvement in laboratory practices and procedures.
Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols, in collaboration with senior management, to promote consistency, efficiency, and safety in laboratory operations.
Monitor laboratory performance metrics, such as test turnaround time, accuracy rates, and proficiency testing results, and implement corrective actions as needed to address deviations and improve performance.
Ensure the proper maintenance, calibration, and validation of laboratory equipment and instrumentation, coordinating with vendors and service providers as needed to resolve technical issues and ensure uninterrupted operation.
Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents, consumables, and supplies, and oversee procurement, storage, and distribution processes to maintain adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of laboratory procedures, test results, quality control measures, and other documentation required for regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and accreditation purposes.
Collaborate with other departments, healthcare providers, researchers, and external partners to support interdisciplinary research projects, clinical trials, and collaborative initiatives that require laboratory expertise and resources.
