Description
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures, including blood tests, urine analysis, microbiological cultures, and tissue analysis.
- Collect, label, and prepare patient samples (e.g., blood, urine, swabs) for analysis, ensuring proper handling and storage to maintain sample integrity.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration, cleanliness, and proper functioning to avoid contamination or errors.
- Record and analyze test results, interpreting data accurately, and report findings to physicians or medical professionals for further diagnosis or treatment.
- Follow all laboratory safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Assist in the development and validation of new lab testing techniques and technologies to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
- Maintain and update accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure the inventory of lab supplies is well-managed, ordering and stocking reagents, consumables, and equipment as necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment plans for patients.
