Lab Technician

Qualifications:

1. Master’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) /DMLT/BMLT/Bsc MLT
2. Strong phlebotomy skills; comfortable with blood collection (including home visits)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform and independently report diagnostic tests in hematology, biochemistry, urine analysis, and clinical pathology
2. Conduct microscopic examination and reporting of peripheral smears
3. Operate and maintain automated analyzers (Horiba Yumizen H500, Yumizen CA40)
4. Ensure Quality Control (QC), internal audits, and compliance with NABL / ISO 15189 standards
5. Train and supervise junior staff; conduct competency assessments
6. Maintain and authorise documentation in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
7. Authorised signatory for reports as per NABL guidelines
8. Contribute to ISO 9001:2015 quality management practices (customer focus, process improvement, continual quality enhancement)

Skills Required:

1. Strong clinical judgement, troubleshooting ability, and reporting accuracy
2. Knowledge of NABL/ISO 15189 standards and awareness of ISO 9001:2015 QMS principles
3. Team leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
4. Computer proficiency for LIS, QC, and digital record maintenance
5. Should be able to - Prepare & stain peripheral smear; perform WBC differential on microscope; flag smearing/staining artifacts
