Description
- The Junior Consultant will be directly responsible for supervision of patient care in his unit with the assistance of Junior Residents, specially the emergency cases. He/ She will be contacted by the Junior Resident on duty in case of emergency.
- The Junior consultant job description typically includes gathering and analyzing patient's diagnostic data, drawing conclusions and presenting findings in the form of recommendations to their Senior consultants.
- Conduct pediatric patient consultations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests, to diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric conditions and illnesses.
- Collaborate with senior consultants and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients, incorporating evidence-based practices and family-centered care principles.
- Perform procedures commonly required in pediatric care, such as immunizations, venipuncture, lumbar punctures, and wound care, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to medical residents, interns, and nursing staff involved in pediatric patient care, including supervision of clinical activities, teaching bedside skills, and promoting professional development.
- Participate in daily rounds, case discussions, and departmental meetings to review patient progress, discuss treatment strategies, and collaborate on complex cases with the healthcare team.
