Description

The Junior Consultant will be directly responsible for supervision of patient care in his unit with the assistance of Junior Residents, specially the emergency cases. He/ She will be contacted by the Junior Resident on duty in case of emergency.
The Junior consultant job description typically includes gathering and analyzing patient's diagnostic data, drawing conclusions and presenting findings in the form of recommendations to their Senior consultants.
Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic tests, to diagnose surgical conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Perform a wide range of general surgical procedures, including but not limited to appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, bowel resections, and thyroidectomies, utilizing both open and minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques.
Assist senior consultants in complex surgical procedures, including advanced laparoscopic surgeries such as laparoscopic colectomies, gastrectomies, splenectomies, and bariatric procedures.
Provide preoperative and postoperative care for surgical patients, including surgical consultations, patient education, perioperative management, wound care, and follow-up appointments.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and surgical rounds to discuss patient management, review surgical outcomes, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals in providing comprehensive care.
